Children have the power to change a lot of things. Have you ever given any thought to having one?
Why bother distracting yourself from it? Why not embrace it? Yes we live strange and dangerous lives but how many people can say they've been among the stars? Travelled to other worlds? Learned about alien cultures and seen creatures that man has thought to be mythical?
I've always been a half empty kind of woman. Sometimes I try to embrace it the best I can, but I could certainly be better at it. Probably not as good as all that, even if it is a lovely way to look at it all.
[After looking online to see what is playing Judd decides to take Tess to an evening showing of 'LadyHawke' at a smaller theatre that usually shows indie or old films, he texts her all the info and arrives a few minutes early in order top purchase them tickets and wait for her by the snack bar. He stands out from everyone around him, a man of about 4 feet 5 inches will do that in the normal world but he doesn't seem to mind and when he sees Tess he smiles and gives her a little nod.]
[Tess might be a few minutes late, but not obnoxiously so. She also stands out, a woman over 6' in heels, red hair flowing. She also walks like she means business, even when it's a casual night out at the movies. She spots him and smiles in return.]
Never feel bad, some of those costumes were of his own design. And headpieces certainly seemed to be all the rage at one point, weren't they? That and massive shoulder pads.
My costumes were never exactly creative but at least I didn't have to wear all those accessories.
The giant P was bad but at least my bits were all tucked in, and yes the maple leaf is pretty bad but you know how the government is about country pride. Didn't England do the same with your brother and make him wear the Union Jack repeatedly?
True enough...to all of that. The same can't be said for certain costumes and bits. Like Emma's. Hers aren't always securely in there.
Oh it's even worse than that actually. Despite being the 'champion of Great Britain' the Captain Britain Corps has very little to do with the goverment.

Not all aspects of our lives are lovely so I find holding onto the points that are can help.

Just a giant 'P' right? I can't determine if that's better or worse than a certain costume with a maple leaf someone wore...
